Light

I was watching a documentary about 9/11—and something struck me.

I realized that back on 9/11, I hadn’t really given any thought to the people who were mid-flight once the government basically declared the whole country a no-fly zone (when all planes were ordered to land).

Did you ever think about the people onboard those planes—and how frightening it must have been to have to land somewhere other than home—and have no provisions for the duration of your stay there? And wondering about the fate of your family, this country, and the world, for that matter?

I learned that many west-bound flights (which were crossing the Atlantic en route back to the U.S.) were ordered to land in Gander, Newfoundland.

And what I saw on this video was so beautiful.

The people in this small town of Gander banded together to provide hospitality to these stranded passengers. They worked in make-shift shelters, providing meals and other provisions for them. They stepped up to help in this extreme time of uncertainty and need.

What a reassurance to know that Encouragers exist the world over—even in places most of us have never heard of.

There will ALWAYS be a Light that darkness cannot hide.
